Taste Of The Island

All your meals are included. You can choose to eat in a number or partly alfresco communal areas close to the beach and poolside. A great change to meet other people if the group os small or you are travelling alone.

The breakfast is a buffet style, lunch a wrap or sandwich and dinner a two course meal chose from three available on the board.

Vegetarian options are available.

The meals are usually a combination of Fijian and western dishes so you can choose your preference.

Accommodation Details

A mixed, six bed bure style dormitory located not far from the beach, pool, and toilets. Communal showers are footsteps away. If you would like a private room with a fantastic outside shower room please enquire in your booking request.

Activities
  • Coral gardening in the shallow fringing reef next to the lodge. All materials and tuition is included
  • Reef shark snorkeling in the shallow fringing reefs. A very safe and unique experience
  • Sea reef kayaking
  • A locally guided, half day beach and jungle walk
Detailed Itinerary

Monday- Day 1

Today you will travel to the lodge in the morning. Depending on when high tide is you will learn about the coral reef structure on the beach before having a dive snorkelling lesson. If you are feeling confident you will get on with collecting coral to plant later.

Tuesday – Day 2

On high tide you will continue with your coral gardening activities. Today you will also learn how to farm coral. You can also use the kayak to explore the reef or go on any of the optional activities. On one of the following days you will plant mahogany trees to help fund the education of youngsters in the surrounding villages.

Wednesday – Day 3

On high tide you will continue with your coral gardening and coral farming activities. You can also use the kayak to explore the reef or go on any of the optional activities. A beach jungle walk or shark snorkelling trip is included, feel free to do one of them today.

Thursday – Day 4

On high tide you will continue with your coral gardening and coral farming activities. You can also use the kayak to explore the reef or go on any of the optional activities.

Friday – Day 5

On high tide you will continue with your coral gardening and coral farming activities. You can also use the kayak to explore the reef or go on any of the optional activities. A beach jungle walk or shark snorkelling trip is included, feel free to do one of them today.

Saturday – Day 6

On high tide you will continue with your coral gardening and coral farming activities. You can also use the kayak to explore the reef or go on any of the optional activities.

Sunday – Day 7

On high tide you will continue with your coral gardening and coral farming activities. You can also use the kayak to explore the reef or go on any of the optional activities.

Helpful Information

As part of our principle of working only with locally owned lodges, eco-resorts or trusted homestays, this is a locally run lodge.

Remember 10% of proceeds go to one of three community projects of you choice

It is more than likely you will meet the women who made it and even if not, you will leave knowing that you not only gave 10% of your trip cost back to local projects but also provided direct income to local women who are continuing their traditional skills.

Your volunteering project starts on a Monday.

Please bring your own snorkel equipment. If you forget there is some for hire at $20 a session.

We can advise you on additional eco trips to add on to your trip as you like.

Details of your resort/lodge names and full itinerary will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed with 20% deposit.

Please bring your own reusable water bottle to help reduce plastic waste on the islands.
