Settle into you secluded beach front bure while dinner is prepared. Enjoy your first tropical island nights sleep, it will be deep and refreshing.

Tuesday Day 2

By kayak you’ll discover a deserted island which sits quietly in the teal blue sea while golden sands lap at its shore.

Thursday Day 4

SUP-ing and snorkeling before relaxing on the beach.

Friday Day 5

Try your hand at coral gardening (optional) in the morning. This is a reef restoration project where coral is carefully planted and grown before distributing on the reef to help regrowth. The afternoon will see you taking the boat and taxi back to the city of Suva where you can collect your packed lunch from our recommended shops before getting on the ferry ready to take in the local hustle and bustle of island transport!

Saturday Day 6

After seeing the stunning island of Taveuni from North to South on your journey by boat you will land at around 2pm. Our taxi contact will pick you up from the wharf at around 2pm and take you to your accommodation.

Sunday Day 7

Today you will go to snorkel Fiji’s longest established marine protected area where you will snorkel close up to the wonderful fish that are usually scared of humans. Here they grow big because they are protected. One the way back we may be able to squeeze in an extra kayak along the river mangroves.

Monday Day 8

Lavena, which lies quite literally, at the end of circular road around Taveuni and is home to the Lavena coastal walk and kayak trips. You will spend a ¾ day taking in the stunning coastal views here, think of Jurassic Park! Blue Lagoon 2 was filmed here. You’ll visit tumbling waterfalls before returning by foot along a famous coastal path.

  • Does this suit me?
If you are open to learning about an new culture, are patient and able to ‘go with the island flow’ then this is a fantastic way to travel. Sometimes electricity is turning off at 9pm, the bus or taxi is late or the weather isn’t typical dream-like paradise but we do go out of our way to ensure your adventure runs smoothly. Remember that is is an eco holiday so if the sun hasn’t been out in force for two days then the solar heaters may not heat your shower water. Little things like this make it a truly authentic experience
  • Intermediate to advanced eco-conscious kayakers who are interested in learning about the local flora and fauna as well as meet and (if you want) live with local islanders. The escape is designed for kayakers who are interested in authentic Fiji and who can go with the flow of island life
  • Thank You for Going Green in Fiji – Our little way of saying thank you for helping us preserve these stunning waters and pristine lands is to send you a hand-woven Fijian ‘voivoi’ door mat to your home. It is more than likely you will meet the women who made it and even if not, you will leave knowing that you not only gave 10% of your trip cost back to local projects but also provided direct income to local women who are continuing their traditional skills
